Cincinnati is a fun place to be when summer arrives, with plenty of good food, music, and friends to while away the long summer days with. There’s really no better way to spend a summer afternoon or evening than sharing a meal with friends, unless there’s music, sunshine, and an air of carefree fun about too.
Check out some of these festivals we can all look forward to this summer:
May Festival: May 20 - 28
The annual May Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, is billed as one of the oldest continuous Choral festivals in the Western Hemisphere. The concert series features the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the May Festival Choir Singers and various other performers. Each night of the festival focuses on an over-arching theme.
Taste of Cincinnati: May 28 – 30
The annual Taste of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a Memorial Day weekend staple and boasts the best in local fare. During the three-day fest, dozens of celebrated area chefs serve up over 70 inventive signature dishes. Awards are given out in the categories of best healthy option, best appetizers, best entrees, best deserts and best vegetarian meal.
Bunbury Music Festival: June 3 – 5
The Bunbury Music Festival is a celebration of indie and alternative music situated on the scenic banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati, Ohio. The three-day event features an eclectic lineup of national headliners and buzzworthy bands rocking out on six stages. Festival attendees can enjoy a wide selection of microbrews in the Craft Beer Village and unique cocktails and samplings in the Distillery Village. Local eateries and well-known vendors offer a range of snacks, meals and delectable desserts.
Panegyri Greek Festival: June 24 – 26
Founded in 1974, the Panegyri Greek Festival is a community-wide celebration of Greek culture. Guests can sample from an assortment of authentic Greek dishes such as souvlaki, mousaka and pastichio and even learn to cook these items in cooking classes held throughout the event. In addition to the culinary element, the festival boasts live dance performances and classes, where attendees can learn basic steps to traditional dances.
Cincy Blues Festival: August
The annual Cincy Blues Fest in Cincinnati, Ohio, celebrates the original American aural art form that is blues music. The two-day music event features dozens of legendary virtuosos and contemporary touring musicians playing across four stages including an intimate showcase stage, a high-energy piano stage, a local artist stage and a main stage that hosts a big-name headliner.
Taste of Blue Ash: August
The annual Taste of Blue Ash in Blue Ash, Ohio, is a smorgasbord of tunes, treats and terrific times. The three-day event features over 20 food booths from area restaurants serving their signature dishes as well as two stages of music boasting national touring country and classic rock acts. Additional attractions include carnival rides, laser tag and a beer garden.
